I am growing a tomatillo for the first time this year, but it seems to have a problem. Parts of the stem have split and hard bits are growing out. The best way I can think to describe them is they look kind of like rice. This covers much of the lower stems. They don't seem to be bugs, they seem plant like. I can see some rice nodules forming higher up on the plant, but they have not yet broken the stem. Is anyone familiar with this? The plant is growing like crazy and is covered with flowers. Thanks in advance.
