Did you Google this? I don't *think* it can survive your winters in the ground, but then, I didn't think crinums would survive MY winters but they do. (*grin*) My AHS encyclopedia says the x Amarcrinums are hardy in Zones 8-10.

BTW, it was *I* who told you it was a cross between amaryllis and crinum---how DARE you doubt ME???

I have no doubt it would be in the best of hands. But after digging that monster hole to put it in, it's at least spending the summer there.

Joe, my advice is to stick it somewhere you want it and let it go. I have both Amaryllis and Crinums and Amarcrinums here, and they come back fine. I try not to pay too much attention to zone requirements.

Many things are labeled for warmer zones that will live in cooler clims. I grow several varieties of Palm trees for crying out loud, and we have a Gloriosa vine that has now made an appearnce for us for the third year straight. Our rule is, if it says zone 9, I can grow it! Some folks just aint got the stomach for "die-back tropicals" though.
