You should put enough on so the leaves are all a bit moist, especially the undersides. Before spraying, clip off all affected foliage. The Ortho will not cure the yellowed leaves, only stop/slow the progression of the problem. I sprayed mine 1 week apart at the beginning of June (we had a ton of rain) and just sprayed them again last week. Good Luck.

thanks! vtgreenthumb. although my plants are now being taken by disease i have had the best garden in years. tons of tomatoes enough to give away and make sauce. blts have been fantastic as well! any tips from anyone on how to avoid disease or the spread thereof. i have no other spot on my property to plan in due to lots of trees and shade. only one area gets full sun so rotating would not work.

The problem with blight is that once you get it, there is not much you can do to get rid of it other than crop rotation. Since this is not an option for you, I would put a thick bed of mulch (I use hay) around each tomato plant to try and keep the spoors off of the leaves. I also spray my transplants down once I get them in the ground, and if I see any evidence of blight, I spray them again. I'm one of the few around my area that have not suffered with blight this year. Good Luck.
