Milorganite is the brand name of an organic nitrogen fertilizer produced by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Popularized in the United States during the 1940s and 1950s, it consists of processed sludge from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Jones Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The fertilizer is made up of microbes that have digested nutrients from the sewage stream along with added iron, used to strip phosphorus from the waste water flowing into Lake Michigan.

Umm Wow.... I don't know know If I'd want to be putting that out as food for anything I plan to ingest later.

The stuff works really good too.....
A little liquid seaweed extract, a little alfalfa tea, and a little milorganite makes for some fantastic flowers and veggetables and all sorts of etc too.....

A friend recommended sprinkling a few handfuls around plants ("Oh, I never wear gloves to garden") to keep deer away.

I bought a huge bag from Lowes in Knoxville on Clinton Hwy. Super cheap too, around 10 bucks. This is the first year I have used it after also reading about it on the banana forum. I put it on everything. Be warned it has a funky smell!

Dried horse manure works just as well. :-)
