We went to Copper Basin,Tn yesterday and all the sweet autumn clematis is amazing growing on the sides of the road. It is a mystery to me why it doesn't grow wild here in Mcminn county, only a county away.

I have to add some huge praise for the sweet autumn clematis. I have one that is 2 years old. It's growing on a 6 ft tall fence and is about 14 feet wide. It's so thick it grows about 2 feet out from the fence on each side and above in a solid tangle. The blooms are finishing up now but it was a solid mass of them a couple weeks ago. It's growing in soil that's had very little improvement and would not sustain most plants. And the most amazing thing is it's putting on this performance with no supplemental watering! None!

What's not to love when a plant will do that for you in a year like this!
