I think I have red sister, and I just got some more this weekend. They are very nice and easy plants to grow, mine like miracle gro and also water. They seem to love humidity also, but just misting the leaves every once and a while will make up for that. They are pretty fast growers too, (mine grow about a foot or so of new trunk), but if it ever gets too big, just cut the stalk back and root the cutting. They dont seem to shed there dead leaves as easily as other common tropicals and although it will eventually drop dead or damaged leaves, you might want to cut them off so it looks cleaner.

And make sure you buy or plant them in groups. Most stores sell them as 3 or 4 plants in a pot, but if you get single plants, make sure you group them together to give them a full look.

I have a few stuck in with other plants and they all seem to enjoy my benign neglect method, though I do tend to water on the heavy side. We have a fair amount of humidity, though, so tropicalzone7 is probably right about the misting.
