Mystery tree-pics

Hi, I received this tree from a friend. It's supposed to be a wonderful pomagranate but when it bloomed the flowers don't look like pomagranate. Anyone have any idea what tree or fruit tree this is? I believe the plant was propagated from seeds brought back from India. It grew about 3 feet every year and was 7 feet tall this year when it bloomed.

I was waiting for my carpool this a.m. and low and behold, I noticed a house with the same type of plant that I was trying to ID. It was trained the form of a bush, not tall like my plant. It turns out it's a Holly. One of those plants that bloom profuse white flowers then the flowers turn into red berries. Very dissapointing as I traded my Passiflora Linularis for this Holly. Oh well, you never know!
