Fragrant Tea Olive

I'm new to the Chattanooga area (Harrison). Does anyone know if you can successfully grow fragrant tea olives in this area? I worry about the red clay, but my non-gardening hubby says he wants a couple planted so we can sit on our front porch and soak up the fragrance.
