Apart from being a GW nom de plume, this makes a nice small flowering tree in tropical climes, and rapidly grows to at least 4 feet and flowers in a single season along the Gulf Coast.

This is S. punicea, which is similar in appearance to S. tripeti.

So I have a bunch of seedlings coming along, and am wondering what the odds are of getting S. tripeti to flower in a single season in the lower Midwest.
