under house storage

WE have a good sized space for storage. Our house is on a slope so one end of the 'crawl space' is almost 6' and then under the step down FR is more like 3'. We have a sump pump in the lowest corner. We don't have plastic down but keep the vents and door open, (which is located under the deck) and a light bulb burnining continuosly to help with moisture. Moisture usually is not a big problem but it could be.

How much darkness/light and humidity is too much or is needed for survival of frost tender plants? I assume this will only work with those that go dormant but will some types of plants just 'slumber' if given minimal light?
