The best thing I can think of is to plant it directly in the ground for summer, then pot it up and use it as a houseplant for winter. I've got a large one that I've grown for three years now doing that, and it's 5-6 feet tall now with huge leaves. It's an alocasia calodora, but I'm growing the marcorrhiza in the greenhouse this summer for sale, and the culture is the same. They do like lots of water, mine is planted at the bottom of a gutter downspout,and still I've been watering mine this year. It's now lots taller than in the picture, as a matter of fact, my daughter and I looked at the picture a few minutes ago, then went outside and looked at the plant today, and the top of it is over the top of this picture. It's over the top of my head by about a foot and I'm 5 foot four.
Guess I need to find a bigger pot this winter! lol...

I planted mine in a soggy spot and worked some timed release Osmocote fertilizer into the soil at planting. By about late July, it started getting huge. Fertilizer and water are key.
