Wow, they do have a great selection, and they're somewhat local too! This tip came just in time. I spent a lot of lastnight looking at mail-order appletrees.

For anyone wondering about that extra fancy word Ann used, I looked it up. It's actually spelled "lagniappe" and is a Creole noun that means "an extra gift" usually used as, "The store gave me a lagniappe for shopping there."

Before we moved back up here, we spent a decade in New Orleans and lagniappe (glad you found it, spelling and all) was a word often used but seldom seen in writing.
Now I'm looking for someone interested in heirloom peaches in this area, if any of you stumble on something like peaches somewhere near east Tennessee.

I don't know of anyone locally growing peaches commercially or propagating peach trees. Early spring frosts can be a problem with peach production in Tennessee. It is possible, just not common.
