No, there's no need to protect them from lower temperatures. Just collect the seeds or entire pods when they begin to dry out. I would have thought that the Penstemon seeds should already be ready, but some Aconitum seeds might not be ready until a little later. Be sure to thoroughly clean and dry (both of these have orthodox seeds) your seeds before storage.
