euphorbia cotinifolia

I'm wondering what the best way to save this plant is. It's a few years old, relatively small, about a foot and a half, in a pot. Every year it summers on a roof, where it eventually does very well. Usually in the winter, I bring it to my office, south window, water minmally, and try not to be too concerned when it loses all it's leaves and starts dying back. Then when it heats up late spring I bring it back out and gradually give it full sun, and it comes back.

But, it takes quite a while, and every year I wonder if I've killed it. Like right now- all the leaves are gone, it's shrinking, and I don't know whether I should get it out of the window and stop watering completely, or...

Is there a better way?
