Tax Rebate Question

Did any of you get the stimulus packet tax refund early? Pres. Bush announced that the payments would be made early, beginning on Monday April 28. Well in my office we have been watching for the payments and no one has received them. The original date was May 2 to start sending them out. I just wonder if we were lied to one more time, or if it was a big misunderstanding.

They are still going out in 3 batches, based on SS #.

Probably no one you know, has the right SS#, to be in the first batch.

On the other hand, what they say they are doing, and what they actually do, need not be one and the same. It is, after all, the federal government, who sees no reason to be obligated to answer to citizens.

Supposedly, the first batch went out already (if you have filed your tax return and did the automatic deposit for your return--if they mailed your check, then they'll mail this one at a later date). I think the first batch was SS #s ending 00 to 25 (or something like that), the second batch (I'm hoping today) is 26-75, and the last batch on May 9 which will be 76 to 99 (I'm not sure of the exact #s, but it's something like that).
Not many numbers in the first batch, so, like Rick said, you may not know anybody in the first batch (who did automatic deposit).

Who knows if I have my info correct, but that was how I understood the story that I read.

Here is the link to when you should receive your checks. If you had your tax refund direct deposited, then you will get your stimulus check direct deposited.

My nephew got his over a week ago. I, of course, am in the LAST bunch to go out!
What is everyone doing with theirs? I'm getting my fascia board fixed on the back deck. That'll make my brother & the hardware store happy.

I heard Justin will spend his rebate on the hummers. Which I suppose is only fair. I mean, if you're gonna claim somebody...you should share the wealth...hahaha!

Every penny goes towards getting a new house. We didn't get ours either. My DH said we'll get it around June 20th or so. We're moving after that so I don't care overly much.
Justin is just crazy for those lil birds! Is he gonna send them on vacation or something? LOL! PJ

Got mine, spent it all in one fell swoop, paid my brother (who is really a carpenter) to fix the fascia board in the back and do some other stuff.
