Mine are super easy. Good garden soil, full sun, cut back after blooming and they bloom from May until October. These are magic fountains, a short type. A friend (Hooti) had some tall ones that were stunning, made mine look like the big hair and heavy makeup types. But I have too much wind in my location for the tall types without staking.

I've seen them in lots of gardens, so they do well around here. What's your soil ph?

Gottagarden, You're delphiniums look great!
Flowerpower, I have a few Round Table ones. I had trouble with delphiniums until I put them in a spot that doesn't get too dry. Most of my soil in sunny areas turns to brick by Aug., and they would be very unhappy or die on me. But I have an area with a flower bed now that doesn't get too dry and they are happy.

I just lost my only one this year, I also heard that the field grown ones are much hardier than the nursery ones. Have a local guy that grows them that I may visit this year, he's close to 90 and sells stuff from his home but I've heard it's very quality plants.
