That's great, Penny. I winter sowed your seeds about 10 days ago. That's great news. Of course, this winter has not been too harsh (yet) in spite of a very cold sretch in January. As long as we have a good blanket of snow (almost all gone here, now, though), plants fare much better. I have the same rosette on my Agastache Neomexicana 'Lavender Haze'--also listed as hardy zone 7+... Nice surprise! Keep us posted,

hey Anne-Marie,
I did the seeds that I got from you about 2-3 weeks ago also and am looking forward to seeing them sprout. all the snow was gone yesterday but today is a different story. It started to snow again around 3:30 this morning and hasn't stopped yet. Oh well spring isn't too far off now. I am hoping that we are at the tail end of it. I have all my agastaches and most of my salvias wintersown.

I have seeds for 'Apricot Sprite' and Salvia farinacea 'Strata' and 'Victoria' - is it too soon to WS them in Zone 5? I've been holding them back, but I'm dying to plant them. (If everything I winter sowed sprouts, I'm going to have a LOT to share and trade this year - and I just ordered three more packets of seed today!)

Last year I sowed my Apricot Sprite seeds on Jan 12th and they sprouted April 29th so I don't think it is too early for you to sow yours. Last winter was much colder too than this winter has been. This year I sowed my seeds on the 19th of Jan. THey are beautiful little plants. Not as tall as the other varieties of agastache and work well in containers as well as inground.

Thank you Penny! I think I'll sow my agastache today. I'm really excited to grow more things from seed this year by winter sowing - starting things indoors is just not practical for me (kids, cats), so I've been limited to direct-sowing in past years. This could open up a whole new world of plants to me (and save my beleaguered gardening budget!).
