Must've been a real monster!

I used a sharp spade, took me 5 minutes for a large one. First hack off all the leaves with the spade, then cut the crown/roots up into 1/4 or 1/8 's, and then lift out the pieces with a fork, throw them into garbage or recyclables paper bag. As I also learned, you need to sift through the soil for pieces of the crown and roots.

Well I have done all that for two years in a row now. I think there are roots that are under the concrete that the fence post is set in and that is why it keeps coming back. I think the round up will be my only alternative to getting rid of this behemouth plant for good.

I almost died when I saw this think poking up out of the soil a couple of weeks ago. I immediately got my shovel and started digging and digging and digging. I am going to kill it one way or another! Argh!
