I bring my banana plant in for the winter. Although I've heard it will grow outside with protection, I have not found anyone who has actually done it. I don't think mine would make it.

I've had hit or miss on growing musa basjoo in the ground. One out of three survive. It's far easier to take them and the palms indoors during winter. I put down plastic, put a plant lite on timer, and spray 'neem' for mites.

Thanks. Are they something that will only grow as big as their pot? How much do they grow in one year here?
I think I might try to grow one, just to see what happens.
