A post for Omar
Seeing as how I've already convinced him he should come up this way, here are the weather advisories for the next two days:
TOMORROW NIGHT: Windy
9°
******DANGEROUS WIND CHILL VALUES LIKELY WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY!****** Wednesday night and early Thursday morning is a time that IF you have to travel across the High Plains, you should seriously consider either postponing your plans, or making sure that you have all of your Winter weather travel accessories (shovel, blanket, peanut butter, kitty litter) in case you get stranded on the side of a road and have to wait for help. Visibilities will be reduced greatly thanks to the combination of very strong winds (out of the north blowing at speeds averaging 20-30 mph with some gusts upwards of 40-50 mph possible) and light snowfall. The snow won't amount to much, but might accumulate to the 1 inch or less range. Wind chill values will plummet thanks to the combination of overnight low temperatures ranging from 0 to 14 degrees and the strong winds....helping create wind chill values ranging from -25 to -5 degrees! Prolonged exposure in conditions such as these could lead to hyperthermia and death, so caution is definitely urged to anyone driving or having to work outdoors during this time period!

*******DANGEROUS WIND CHILL VALUES LIKELY THURSDAY MORNING!******** Thursday looks to be the coldest day that we've seen in a while and perhaps, the coldest day that we've seen so far this fall and winter season. Believe it or not, it could even be colder than we are predicting now (stay tuned). Skies will be cloudy and perhaps foggy with areas of light snowfall. There's a chance that some of the snow could accumulate with around 1 inch possible in some areas. High temperatures will be frigid and only warm into the 20s over most of the region with highs in the middle and upper 10s over the central and eastern Oklahoma Panhandle and the northern and northeastern Texas Panhandle! The winds will be howling from the north and northeast Thursday morning at speeds averaging 20-30 mph with some gusts upwards of 40-50 mph possible. Combine these strong winds with the air temperatures in the 10s and 20s and you will have wind chill values hovering in the -20 to -5 degree range all day long!
