Yes , snow is a refreshing thought after another day of this humidity and heat. I told my mother in Florida that I was movig north for some cool weather !!!
I wouldn't leave them there unless you can fence around them so the children aren't actually sledding over them. I know when I was a kid we would sled right through the snow down to mud pretty quickly. I wouldn't think the roses would do well if that were to happen.

Ever since we moved here (Fall 2003) it seems weather records have been consistently broken. I can't help but wonder if we'll have a snowless winter this year!!

The one thing you can be sure of here is weather is not really predictable. We have had Christmas day where you could picnic in your garden and others where there was a major blizzard going on. You will get used to it after awhile. It really is a beautiful area of the country.
