This is a fantastic idea. Unfortunately, all the local nurseries I know close up for the winter. Just not worth the effort of keeping heated, staffed,etc.

It would be a fantastic idea for someone in the northeast. Several of our nurseries are still open here and stay open year round as they sell other things throughout the year. One in particular would be great as they are very close but their plants are also more expensive and I am sure if they did offer such a service they would charge a king's ransom.

Although it seems like a wonderful idea - the repercussions to the commercial establishment could be disasterous. The chance of getting some extra insects or some kind of disease that could spread through the GHs is quite high. More than likely a commercial establishment wouldn't store them at any price.

Jack you are right about the adverse possibilities. Of course you just couldn't put plants in straight away. There would have to be an incubation period. Something like this would be good for a retired nurseryman or worman with time on their hands. There actually are some commercial nurseries down south that do this on a limited basis. It may only be something they offer for their best customers I am not sure on the details since I never contacted them myself.
