I don't know much about lollipop crabs, but my parents had a coral crabapple for years. The pink blossoms in the spring are breathtaking, and it's a good shade tree that doesn't get too big. However, the fruit is not edible and EXTREMELY messy. The crabapples get stuck to the soles of your shoes if you walk on them, and they seem to get everywhere. But, if you can deal with the mess it may be a good choice for you.
