De-wormer will, as it indicates, de-worm your.....er, well, worms.

However, if you'll let it lay around for about a month, it will lose its fatal qualities.

I use horse manure almost exclusively and it is left unused for at least a month.

Never use fresh stuff.

I agree with cb2. Lost almost all my worms when my brain checked out and put in fresh manure. I won't let that happen again!

I don.t think the de-wormer will have any noticeable effect on your worms as long as you pre-compost or age the manure, Wazine has a warning not to eat livestock within 2 weeks of using.

When I vermicomposted horse manure, I set the manure gathered for a few days after de-worming aside for pre-composting. Other than those few times per year, I fed the horse manure to the worms pure and fresh, without any other bedding. It was so fresh that I did not add any water. I had no problems with smell or flies. Best of all, the worms loved it and bred like crazy!

Not all manure is created equal. I have read that fresh rabbit manure is OK. I would highly recommend composting your manure first.

Huh, I woulda thought that horses got dewormed a lot since they're so stinking expensive.
Oh I got rabbits too and their turds would already be in the bins if the shed they are in wasn't plowed shut right now..

How would one go about letting the horse manure age before adding it to the worms when it`s below freezing outside ÃÂ Age it in the house ÃÂ I`m sure my cats would love that!
