As long as you chop them up fine and make sure you cover them with some bedding it should not be a problem. Are the eggs still in the shell?

Apparently you can add the shell as well if you crush it a bit with a rolling pin. I have only tried adding eggshells today. I'll see in a couple of months how well they have composted!

Eggshells take a long time to break down. However, I've been researching eggshells the last few weeks and reading postings by people I respect, the consensus seems to be that if the shells are ground to a fine talc-like powder, the worms can ingest it and use it as grit. It adds calcium to the bin and will help to balance any acidity problems. Last month I collected a lot of eggshells from holiday baking and the big family Christmas morning breakfast. After rinsing, drying and grinding, I now have a large spice jar filled with enough to sprinkle over the bin for the rest of the year.

Thank you all for your input. My concern is more in regards to the yolk and and eggwhite. I haven't opened them but I won't be surprised if they have shriveled. Since I have worms, I hate to throw anything out that might be wormfood.

Just smush them and put them in. Cover with bedding so you won't smell them. They'll be fine.
You'll have little pieces of egg shell in the vermicompost but that won't hurt anything. Unless you mind the appearance. If you mind having the little chips, then you can peel the eggs, let the eggshells dry, and them roll them with the rolling pin before you put them in the bin.
