Your post cries out for a pic. As you can notice at the top of the "VERMICOMPOSTING" header, a human hand is holding some worms. That's the color we mostly see, although sometimes they can appear to be a little more opaque (!) depending on.....how excited they are about what kind of food you're offering them....or they're state of arousal otherwise.

The intro to composting seminar I took before getting my kit, the teacher said sometimes we might get little skinny albino looking worms and not to worry. He told us those do the same job that the other worms do.
