Worm photos

Hi all!

These worms live in my raised bed garden. They seem to hang out in the mulch layer of the beds. I believe they came with a load of aged horse manure I used to fill the beds when I built them last year. Do these appear to be red wigglers? I apologize for the question as I'm sure I'm about the zillionth person to ask. I have looked at the pictures but for me at least, it's hard to tell. I'm hoping those of you who know what kind of worms you have can help me :-)

I think it's like a lot of flowers. When you know what they are, you recognize them when you see them again. When you're not sure, it's all just a guess.

Looks like it to me. Yellow tails...they also love to hang out in groups for some reason

Love all the pictures on your photo album. I clicked on the picture and was able to see the whole photo album.

Yes they are red worms but Eisenia Foetidia I doubt it but there are many composting worms. You obviously have a great bed that the worms are attracted to.

As to your pictures what is the squigly seed things?

If I decided to build an indoor worm bin, could I use some of these guys?

anisten, if you mean the seeds with the curlie-Q tails, they are Mountain Mahogany. If you click on the link below, you can see the pictures in some context (on my blog) if you'd like. Somehow I must have uploaded some of them twice to Picasa.

Those are definitely red wigglers. Unless I totally got the wrong worm...which I really don't care at this point because they are processing my food just fine.

Definitely add them to a bin
