How do I remove the worms from compost

Hello all. I created a worm compost bin and - to my surprise - it worked really well. I have this beautiful, moist compost but I have no idea how to remove the worms so I can restart the process. I have an 18 gallon bin with holes on the bottom - that's all. I read that I should move the soil to 1 side and throw scraps/shredded newspaper on the other and they will migrate, but the worms refuse to cooperate. How do I do it?

One way it can be done is to scrape off the top two inches into another bin. Any worms near the surface will migrate down. Come back a while later and take off the next two inches. Repeat until you have enough compost. I know it is a chore, but I don't know an easier way. I'll be watching here for other ideas.

If you search "Harvest" you will find plenty of posts and a lot of different methods.
