Potatoe help please

Last year I did a potatoe box with ok results. I used Golden Maine Potatoes. The problem I had was that I only got potatoes at the bottom of the box. My question is what kind of potatoes do I need to get so that I will get more potatoes as I add soil and increase the height of the box ? Thank you for any help.
