Well, I viewed the video and they make it SEEM so easy! But, did you notice that they didn't actually show any worm castings being released from the bottom. Only HOW to do it.

Two concerns:
1. - My experience has been that the finished vermicompost and vermicasts are rather wet. Somewhat like mud. And I'm not sure how easily they would come out of that little hole.
2. - I'm not sure where you plan to keep this thing hanging but I don't think that the worms would survive a zone 6 winter.

If you do order one, keep us updated on the progress.

I would be afraid it would get too hot in the summer for starters & don't know what would you do with it in the winter?

You might look at the other post on this forum about a homemade flow through system. It uses a trash can or food storage container and you harvest the castings from the bottom similar to the one on the video. HTH

I guess I'd have to ask why you don't want worms in the house? They don't bite, bark or chew. They stay in their nice comfy beds, eat and make lovely castings. You never know they are there. Should one get loose it certainly can't do any damage. If they have a high yuck factor for you, handle them with surgical gloves. :)
