I found a little over 200 worms outside under boards, in piles of leaves etc. I live just south of Nashville and believe my worms are the L. Rubellus (I've included a photo). I put them into a bathroom trashcan with about 6-8 inches of used paper towels which I moistened with tap water. I've also added two tea bags and some coffee grounds. In about 3 weeks time, they have consumed one tea bag and about half of the coffee grounds.

I wouldn't think much of it except there are getting to be quite a bit of castings in the bottom of the container. So it appears they are eating the paper towels and not the high Nitrogen food I've supplied for them.

Is this to be expected?
