A few of them are going to escape and die. When you are really new to this you may agonise over every worm ( I hope you aren't giving them names : -) I'm not sure why they do some suicidal things but they do. All you can hope is that they are breeding faster than they are commiting suicide. I find crispy worms that escaped all the time. As long as you are finding lots of tiny baby worms I wouldn't worry about a couple that got away.

If your bed is made up of completely different material than the beds that they came from it may take a week or 10 days for them to settle down in the new beds and quit looking for their old bed.

Food can heat while it is composting and the heat will make worms want to leave. It's a good idea to feed in just one place at a time to give the worms somewhere cooler to go if the food does heat.
