I'm just setting up my first bin, hoping to get it up and running before summer camp. I think the kids will love it.

My question is about bedding... I hear a lot about commercially available coconut fibre being a great bedding material, but somewhat pricey. I am fortunate enough to live in a climate where we have coconut palms everywhere... If I take fibre from my local palms, is it the same thing?

And I'm not sure, but would I want the part of the coconut between the green skin and the hairy brown shell?
