I should add the reason I'm worried about my coffee grounds is because I don't use a peculator. I use a single cup maker where you just pour hot water through the coffee filter so I don't know if all the acid is removed from them using that method.

I usually sprinkle a handful of ground limestone over coffee grounds and always make sure there is plenty of shredded paper bedding. I give the worms some grit and also balances the ph.

You didn't say the weight of the coffee grounds but it is best to keep the raio of food scraps to worms pretty even.

My guess is that 99% of the worm"farmers" feed UCG to their herd.
I did once and not any more because I don't like the old coffee smell in the house and I think the mite population exploded after that. It was at a time when I was trying to get rid of/minimize mites.
UCG goes into my backyard composter.

I put a cup of UCG into each of my kitty litter sized bins (indoors) this week. I would not be suprised to see the mite population to jump. UCG are such as good source of nutrients.

I put all my ucg in my worm bins and see no problem.

The only way my worms eat the grounds is if I mix it in with their food. My guys don't care for it.

I too, like Otis stopped giving them UCG, as I had a large population of mites. Mind you, I get mites regularly, no matter what I do, but I think the grounds brought attracted them quicker.
