Wow. A friend (the third one so far) has gotten interested in vermicomposting, so I did a mini-harvest of castings to get her a colony together. Zowie! The most beautiful, soft, fluffy stuff, and so much I was able to be really lavish with it in planting tomatoes today.

I keep my worms outside in an unheated greenhouse, but you can really tell when the weather warms up and they get to work. What a pleasure for a gardener to have this stuff at hand.
