A worm cut in half can grow a new tail, but it can't grow a new head.

it depends on were the worm is cut...you may or may not get 2 viable parts.I remember doing this as a kid ad they both wiggled a bit but don't know what happened long term!

It depends on where the worm is cut. Your worm may re-grow and new tail or it may just die. But the other piece WILL NOT be a viable worm! This fact can be verified by reading "Worms Eat My Garbage."

Worms can grow back sections of the tail, if it is not too many. They do not grow new heads, (that would be creepy).
If you do not believe it, sacrifice a worm and see what happens.

I believe you cannot cut one worm and get two.

I'm sure I've read several places that depending on where it's severed you either get a head end that regrows a tail or a dead worm but never two worms. I think I learned that in science class in school, although that was several years ago :)
