Fito: The mites are on the rim of my bin...not to mention lots of stuff in my bin:) I think my camera is also very good because in real life those mites are only about the size of the head of a pin. You only know they aren't specks of dirt because they move:)

Thanks again ogsteacher, you may end up with mites in your own bin...I find they get on me when I've been digging in the bin but I know they can't hurt me. They are a bit irritating though when they start crawling around on my arms:)

Wait til they get to your forehead. I did a kinda harvest tonight, i had castings all over my hands and didnt wat to get them everywhere else. Needless to say i started feeling things on my shoulders and forehead. Hopefully i was just imagining things, but i took a really hot shower right after to make sure ::grins::

BTW the kinda harvest was due to my fridge dying today and me wanting to make it into a worm bin and needing volunteer specimens to add to it.

I was wondering if the next time you photograph some cocoons, could you perhaps put a dime next to them, for the purpose of size comparison? (I think Canadian and U.S. dimes are about the same size?) I've seen lots of photos of cocoons, but I can never get a grasp on what size they are. Therefore, I don't know exactly what to look for when I'm poking around in my own bin!!

Wow, it's weird to see another person's bin. Yours is so much wetter than mine! Worms seem way bigger, too, but maybe it's the photography. Love the baby shots!
