Okay, but tell me if you really want a fast-growing vine, or something invasive that you are going to have to fight forever, trimming and cutting to keep it under control?

Also, I need to know your exposure - sun, part shade, shade. If shade, I'm assuming it's dry, since you're in Texas, close to me in dry shade Oklahoma, right? Or maybe you're lucky and in Eastern Texas, where you get all of those nice rains - usually anyway. Not so much this year.

Fast growing? A winner would be Passiflora. If P. Edulis grows in your area, try P. McCain as you don'd need two for fertilization. Then you'll have privacy, beautif flowers and .....your own Passion fruit!
P. Alatocerulea is also a beauty with fragrant flowers, but no fruit; P. Quadrangularis (giant passionfruit) is another fast grower. I had to cut mine down as they were toooo fast growning to the point of being invasive! I'm in zone 10.

Cross vine is a native Texas vine and grows pretty fast and is not invasive as other vines are. I'd do a search on Garden Web for whatever vine you plant before you plant it. Whatever you do, DON'T plant trumpet vine!

If you want a monster, plant virginia creeper but be warned it will be everywhere if you don't keep it in check.

I don't recommend it but it did cover my fence in one season (then I tore it out, lol)

Does hops like your region, your exposure? It's a nice big, full vine without being too invasive.

Tackytaz, behind my flower bed I have several sections of wire fencing and 2 bush honeysuckles. They make a nice green background for my flowers and also stay green in the winter so I have something nice to look at in the winter. I am sorry I don't know the name of these 2. I have not had any problems w/ them being invasive. Good luck, Brandy

I am putting in a lattice fence in the alley next to the house for added privacy and I would love to cover it with a fast growing beauty ASAP. It will get full south Florida sun most of the day and will have well drained soil. The faster the better! Thanks in advance!
