I got these seeds from ronni & need to know if its Japanese mj. It sure looks like it from the package but I really have no idea. Ronni sent me lots of seeds but these were the only ones packed liked this (professional). I worry because they are sprouting & growing so much faster then all the other seeds I got. Anyone know?
I wouldn't worry about them becoming invasive. Just dead head the spent blooms so that seed doesn't develop. I have loads of MG varieties, Japanese included, and only a couple have reseeded like crazy and even those are easy to pull out.
Pharbitis nil (so yes, japanese) - Blooming in a relatively short time from seed, this is a fine strain of Morning Glory with flowers, each 4 ins. or so across, in a wide range of rich colours including deep blue, red, chocolate, pink and lavender in both solid-coloured and white-margined varieties.
I'll post pics if I dont kill them all. Only 1/2 of all my seeds germinated & about 1/2 of those have died. Not sure why, they are in pots & I am bringing them in at night. Hopefully some will grow!
