If they are infact springtails then you have no problem, many people actually add them to there terrariums as they eat dead plant matter and as a result unlock the nutrients for plants to consume, beneficial composters and good food for small reptiles and fish.

yes, likely you have springtails, and no they aren't a problem for your plants and once in the garden the compost will be drier than they can handle before long - if you try to keep the worm bin a bit drier you'll keep the populations down, but they are a normal member of the decomposer community, feeding on the decaying organic material

Do the adult springtails appear to look like fruit flies? I put a terrarium together about 2 wks. ago and in the last few days I've noticed ALOT of fruit flies and little white mites and white wormy critters crawling on the inside walls of the terrarium. How do I get rid of them? Thanks!
