Honeysuckle Lonicera Pruning

My honeysuckle Lonicera vine is about 5 years old. How does it get pruned?? The last couple years I have cut off the dead leaves. Every year it seems like it is not as full as it should be. Should it be pruned a lot or not at all? What kind of fertilizer does it like?? I would appreciate any advice...thanks

mine really perked up alot after I caught hubby mow over it.I've since prevented that with a stake of rebar& bamboo stick.I really got a laugh when he tried the same trick and didn't know I used rebar.I did get a new mower out of that.

It happened in Feb.so not too off timeing wise.I like its look lots better now.
