honeysuckle TLC?

Hello all... I bought a house last summer and inherited all sorts of plants I don't know how to take care of.

There are a couple of honeysuckle vines in the back that look like they were never tended to the entire 10 years the previous couple owned the house. There are trellis' set out that I think they are meant to climb but the vine just twists in and out of itself... in a jumbled mass. The plant didn't look very healthy last year either... so I'm wondering if I should prune it back pretty hard this spring? or wait until fall?

It's already starting to get some growth on the vines even though it's still snowing here. I'm not sure if pruning pruning it after the growth has already started would be a good idea?

Any suggestions o' wise ones? :)

Any help would be appreciated! thanks.
