Malabar Spinach seed

Last year I saved seed from a vine called Malabar Spinach. The purple berries were hard to peel off so I let them dry before I stored them. Now I am having a hard time getting the dried berry skins off. Have any of you grown this from saved seed and how did you "peel" the seeds? Anita
