no problem, just leave it, newsprint is fine, just doesn't get microbially active as fast as other things cuz it's just high carbon ... cardboard has the glue, which is high in starch and the worms love it, leaves will always come with a lot of microbes that get them working .... feed less and the paper will go quickly, and make sure it's never dry

"start over"?? you only need to start once, the bin can continue forever if you don't kill the worms, just harvest what you want and keep adding more bedding and feed

I put huge amounts of wet paper in the bins. It does take a bit longer to decompose if there are not a lot of sources of nitrogen, but it will decompose. I also find, as you noted, that the paper is a favorite place for the small worms. I thing the constant moisture is beneficial to them, and look at the paper clumps as special breeding grounds to increase the population. Certainly don't start over; you have a good working system.

Oh okay. I was going under the assumption that everything was to be converted to castings and then start from scratch. Actually I took a bunch of the newspaper out and added it to water and used it to make a bunch of tea. It worked great. I just had to remove the mushy paper after I soaked the castings out.
