I just had my first harvest(*) so I have a little bit of black gold. I'll be trying some container gardening on my apartment balcony this spring/summer. So what is the best use of my limited supply. I'll be making my own potting mix (perlite, peat, a bit of soil), but I don't think I want to dump all my VC into that mix. Wouldn't it probably be best to save it for transplanting seedlings, and occasional top dressing, or making a small quantity of VC tea.

Suggestions?

(*) about 3kg/7L (say, about 8lbs/1.5gal) nice, slightly damp, friable vermicompost. That took me about 2.5 months (end Feb to early May). So I expect a similar amount mid to late July.
