A friend gave me some cuttings from two of her grape vines, so I can propagate some for myself. However, it's not obvious to me what's the top end and what's the bottom end. I see at most of the nodes there is a little 1/8" long bud that does have a slight orientation. I am assuming the buds are pointing to the top end of the vine. Can someone confirm?
