castings prep.

I am attending a plant/gardening swap and I am using some of my castings as trades. The indoor bin has been open for 2 weeks now but the castings are still wet and stickly clumped.

By the 29th. I would like to have them sifted and bagged, but its hard to sift it when in clumps. Other than putting them outside in the sun to dry is there another method to quick drying?

Here in Humber Nurseries a pound of castings sell for $15 and it feels just like light soil through the plastic, I would like my castings to be similar to that.

What about incorporating dry used coffee grounds to help break up the clumps?

I've used a floor fan. Spread the castings on a plastic bag,
turn the fan as high as it will go without blowing them
around. About 12 hrs.

I have never dried castings, but when my kids were helping me water seedlings, they sometimes got overwatered, so I would put the flat on top of entertainment center over the TV. Our TV is on all day with children's programming, so it is nice and warm up there. not hot enough to be detrimental to the plants, but just warm enough to let the excess water evaporate. I have found it also makes a great substitute for a warming pad when trying to germinate tomatoes and such :)
