Sinking worm bin in the ground

Can I sink a worm bin in the ground? If so, how does it get air. I'm thinking if I sink one deep enough maybe the worms can do their work during the winter months in Denver. I have a lot of worm activity in my soil during the winter months, so our frost depth can be too far. And then maybe through a couple of soil bags on the lid.

Thoughts, Ideas. This is all new to me and I want EASY.

yes you can, just make sure you have some drainage holes so it doesn't wind up full of water - the air gets incorporated as you feed and work the bin, it's a component of the feedstock and soil .... unless you have a pretty large bin you'll need to be feeding it all the time, so keep it simple to be easy

I'd think you could simply have a well insulated bin in a sheltered area and be OK, like surrounded with hay bales or such - I keep a {{gwi:1335266}}, and while we've been seeing milder winters every year, it's subject to freezing, and they survive
