Dont be so eager to introduce burrowing worms into your eco-structure. Worms were introduced into the northern continental U.S. with the advance of the pioneering farmers. They can slowly destroy native wild plants and change the whole face of native forests over generations. Worms in the soil are not always a blessing.

I hope you will look into it further. You probably have no intention of putting your worms outside, but if you intend to use the castings on your plants, you WILL introduce them, like it or not. Those castings are chock-full of worm eggs. Carmellia

I agree- they're doing a lot of damage now in parts of the US that didn't have them. The damage is seen spreading out from fishing ponds where bait is released in the midwest. They're responsible for destroying the leaf litter in many areas which some are blaming for loss of sugar maples.

As far as I know (from what I have read in various forums), shippng worms to Hawaii is illegal. And for the reasons posted above. Sorry

Shipping worms to Hawai'i will cost $25,000.00 if caught. Buying them from Hawaii Rainbow Worms won't cost as much, however plan on a very long wait for a return call from them. According to the owners husband, teaching is the money maker for them, not selling bins or worms. They are the only source on the Big Island. Currently, I understand that they just sold 40 pounds to UofH Manoa, and are short of stock. Good luck.
