I have seen some that use barrels that look to have straight sides. My wheelie bin is smaller at the bottom, but it seems to me that as the bottom dries out, the good stuff drops without assistance.

Maybe it's a matter of waiting a bit longer, by scraping you may not be allowing quite enough time for processing and drying.

It probably also makes a big difference what the food is, my FT mainly gets horse manure, so it's probably dryer with nicely mixed in fibre/bedding right from the start.

I just made one with a trash can I had in the garage. It was narrower at the bottom. I hope I don't have harvesting problems. It was east for me to drill the holes for my bars.

Now I need to order worms.
